What are your thoughts on this?  As a mother, I can sympathize with the parents of this wheelbound child.  However, if the TSA makes a decision to skip the pa-tdown of all wheelchair bound passengers, or specifically children in wheelchairs, are we telling terrorists this is an easy way to bring illegal materials on-board a plane in the future?  If that were to happen, then everyone would blame the TSA for NOT checking a passenger in a wheelchair.  For my own personal safety, and the safety of my family, I’d rather have a quick pat-down for EVERY person walking onto a plane-wheelchair or no wheelchair, child or adult.  As long as the parent is there with them and they aren’t inappropriately touching the person, I don’t see a problem with it.  I’m guessing many of those who lost a loved one on 9-11 would possibly feel the same way.
